for between 1860-65, with octagonal 33 1/4in. barrel, oval mount for adjustable tunnel fore-sight (missing), special Westley Richards rear-sight, the top-flat of barrel signed ''PATENT NO 601 ALEX.R HENRY 12 SOUTH ST ANDREW ST EDINBURGH', scroll engraved breech-block with engraved platinum plug, fully scroll engraved top-tang with further threaded aperture, border and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed in script 'ALEX.R HENRY', sliding safe behind the Henry form hammer, chequered walnut pistol-grip half-stock with engraved iron patch-box, iron heel-plate, capped pistol-grip with central trap, chequered trigger-blade, engraved bow and plain ramrod thimbles with eyelets for sling, ramrod absent, traces of finish and colour

Other Notes: According to Donald Dallas's book 'Alexander Henry, Riflemaker' (2017), rifle no. 1075 was made as a best single barrelled rifle equipped with Westley Richards adjustable sight.
